MuinSong

Share
Dear World,

This is my first journal of this kind. I don't who is listening, perhaps someone will enjoy this. Perhaps the Gods will read over my shoulder and know my intentions are good. I attempted a blog a while back and needed help but this I think I can do myself.

MuinSong

Like the vine that encircles the tree, growing with it, or if you take the muin fid to be the bramble which protects with thorny protrusions, there is an interdependence and an independence. Imagine a waterbird who steps into the flow, then steps back after finding its meal, or a journeyer who crosses a threshold, claims their golden prize, and decidedly crosses back. An organization can foster a healthy muinsong, if you will, a "mother-love", but it can't be expected to take every leader by the hand. They must listen for the sound of the song themselves. There will be some who stay in the flow, refuse to return back across the threshold and not regain healthy independence and clarity. Illusions can be much more alluring than reality, and there will be some who obstinately refuse to enter the flow to see the prize available. This is also unhealthy. A friend of mine signs his emails "walk in balance" and what truer words could be spoken? Moderation, balance, a little illusion is okay if we know clarity when we see it. Then we can listen for the Muin Song, the mother love of vines, pulling us toward the trees, so we may grow with the flow without becoming dependent upon it carry us forward.

Peace and Blessings be Yours!

I hope everyone is enjoying their time this winter, whether it's introspective, or a time to break out and make snowforts.

Imbolc is coming too soon for me this year! A few plants in my garden are growing, but stunted and small. Maybe I put them out too soon, or maybe it was just a bit too cloudy.

Take Care Everyone

I'm Pat, a middleaged Gay Heathen living on the Florida Panhandle with my Partner of a decade+ and our Rescued 'Blue Heeler' on a lot and a half of what was once a Jeff Foxworthy set(I STILL dig up the oddest things;>!). I've been on The Path to the Ways of my Ancestors since the late 70's. I've also been Organic Gardening since then. I also come form an Old Irish family that didn't "poo-poo" a kid "Seeing Dead People"(and other non-Corporeals) since his Mom had the same Ability!
Hope to make new aquaintances and learn new things!
Cheers,
Pat

It's almost winter again, real winter, where it rains, and gets cold... ok so it was cloudy for half an afternoon, but I swear the heat is going to break soon.
This next year I'm trying to re-connect with the seasons by painting my thumb green like an over-dyed easter egg. Metaphorically anyway. If i fake my way through planting, watering, and pruning long enough, my hope is that with patience and a lot of luck, something might actually grow on my little balcony. We'll see how it goes! : )

For winter I'm trying some bunch onions and buttercrunch lettuce. ^_^
I also have an aloe plant. (if i manage to kill that one, i quit. lol)

I recently became an Examiner (http://www.examiner.com) under the title of Springfield Pagan Examiner under the Springfield Missouri area.
I thought this might benefit members in this area, because I will be posting articles about local events that may not be able to reach enough interest. So I'm just doing my part.

I do have four articles up already (subscribing is the easiest way to see all articles as they come out so you can stay on top of current events!) so please feel free to look!

Happy Spring

Share
Pagan Life
Spring has come (to the N. Hemisphere), the world is racing forward and the seasonal changes are starting to show.
This time of year is often associated with 'Spring cleaning,' and I like to do ritual (and real) cleansing of my home around this time. It seems like a good way to renew my space and my ties to the energy at home. For me, this is important to create a place where I can relax, feel at ease, and safe.

What do you do for springtime? Does anyone else make any changes to practices throughout this season?

March 18th, 2009

Ostara is the Sabbat during Spring and celebrates the childhood of God and Goddess. Also known as the Vernal Equinox (March 20/21), it is often associated with beginnings, innocence, children, and of course bunnies and eggs in bright colors.

I don't generally do much on this holiday. I don't know if it's because I'm just not very connected to it without having children, or if I'm just always too caught up in the Easter celebration prep my family has. This year I'm trying to change that, so I'm going to try and make colored eggs, maybe decorate my room in brighter colors since its usually pretty black and white. : P
Hooray spring! (it's just not my time of year)

I hope however that other people enjoy this holiday/time of year as much as the rest. : )
How do you celebrate?

March 12th, 2009

i am making crocheted-stuffed dolls of a god and goddess figure. hopefully for my alter, but also just because I can and I'd like to do something to honor them. I have felt a bit disconnected lately.
*deep breath* back on the bandwagon.
i hope they come out ok.
